Cutting Edge Manufacturer of sustainable soft goods, is seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to join their dynamic team. This role will play a crucial part in the creation of 3D shapes and tooling for compression and injection molding using proprietary technology that utilizes sustainable materials.Responsibilities:
- Utilize CAD software (Solidworks, AUTOCAD/Inventor, OnShape, Rhino) and subD type modeling programs (Houdini, Blender, Maya, 3DsMax) to create highly detailed surfaces and complex 3D models.
- Develop textures and create molds for the production of soft goods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and marketing to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends in industrial design techniques, materials innovation, and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct research on user needs, market trends, and competitive products to drive creative design solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field.
- Experience in footwear, furniture, soft goods with sustainability as a focus a plus!
- Proven experience in 3D modeling of intricate surfaces using CAD software such as Solidworks or Rhino.
- Proficiency in at least one subD type modeling program such as Houdini or Blender is required. Experience with multiple programs is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of mold-making processes for compression and injection molding.
- Knowledge of model texturing using software like Blender or Substance Painter is important.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
