Packaging Development Project Manager Beauty$100-$115K

The Project Manager is responsible for fastidiously managing the timely evolution of all development projects from initiation to completion, including new product launches, product line extensions, promo collections/sets, sampling, and re-formulation/repackaging projects. This person will lead weekly cross-functional team status meetings and follow up as necessary to ensure that all milestones are met. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management and communication skills and thrive in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop and manage all product/promotion/sampling development workplans and timelines, ensuring that critical launch milestones are met and information is communicated as necessary to key stakeholders.
- Work closely with all stakeholders to build timelines and manage to deadlines, keeping all responsible departments and individuals on track with deliverables, clearly communicating risks and finding opportunities and defining specific action plans/contingencies when obstacles occur.
- Timely escalation of and proactively helping resolve outstanding issues that put project delivery and/or budget at risk. Work with project team on effective mitigation plans.
- Provide project management best practices in the product development space and help develop infrastructure and processes for business.
- Manage all repackaging/reformulation/tech transfer timelines to ensure seamless transition.
- Manage development project tracker to ensure timely completion of all milestones.
- Lead weekly, or more, project status meetings, authoring weekly project status reports, managing meeting agendas, minutes and resulting action plans to drive for on-time delivery.
- Successfully manage multiple vendors and partners, to ensure best outcomes. Provide clear prioritization of tasks and keep stakeholders informed of project progress and manage expectations proactively.
- Update and maintain master templates for every type of project, to ensure consistency and thoroughness.
- Create a postmortem evaluation system and performance metrics for key milestones to analyze all product launches and determine root causes of project delays to improve the overall system. Record all appropriate information for Post Mortem use, ensuring all information is updated in job management tools upon completion of a project.
- Develop tools, forms, trackers, platforms as necessary to facilitate and improve the project management function.
- Ensure that all project-related data is up to date at all times in job management tools as well as any ancillary tools or reporting mechanisms.
- Other assignments/projects as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 7+ Years of project management experience in CPG, Beauty, or equivalent industry.
- BA/BS in Project Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
