Client Overview: 

Our client is an iconic fashion brand beloved by people of all ages. They’re looking for a Women's Patternmaker with evening wear  to join their incredible team. 

Patternmaker Overview: 

As the Patternmaker, you will manage the pattern, spec, and grading process for all projects. You will be responsible for learning any new software and technologies to help improve all related processes. The ideal candidate is a talented and creative pattern maker with experience creating samples based on sketches and descriptions.

Patternmaker Responsibilities:

Responsible for communicating fit, balance, and construction to cross functional partners 

  • Develop and create patterns using Design team’s sketches as guides? 

  • Provide feedback and suggest alternatives to ensure sketch can be translated into a pattern 

  • Ensure the overall vision and design detail are interpreted correctly and realistically in samples? 

  • Create standards for construction and assist in resolving construction issues in development and production? 

  • Serve as the technical voice in development and production fittings 

  • Inspect finished samples to ensure pattern accuracy and advise on changes 

  • Collaborate with product development and technical design as necessary to solve any production issues that arise 

  • Contribute to the creation and use of block pattern library? 

  • Prioritize workload based on Design and calendar dates 

  • Participate in collaborative meetings, brainstorming and troubleshooting construction questions and issues 

  • Meet all pattern deadlines based on priorities set by product managers, internal and vendor calendars 

Patternmaker Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in patternmaking for evening wear, garment, and/or costume construction 

  • Strong knowledge of textiles, patternmaking, draping and sewing 

  • Proficient in computer patternmaking programs:  Lectra or TukaTech

  • Excellent draping and/or flat patternmaking skills 

  • Possesses strong team playing and communication skills 

  • Ability to be proactive in planning and contribute to hitting aggressive timeline goals
